The theatre and associated rooms and spaces are all available for hire by the community and professional/commercial organisations.
The theatre is hireable by sessions of the day. These sessions are as follows:
- 9am – 1pm (Session 1, Morning)
- 1pm – 5pm (Session 2, Afternoon)
- 5pm-11pm (Session 3, Evening)
The session rate will be charged for all performances or for technical rehearsals (where sound, lighting and/or AV equipment is used).
Setup, Rehearsals & Workshops
The theatre can be hired by the hour as well. There is a minimum of 3 hours billed for hourly hire. The hourly rate is available for setup and clearing either before or after a production. This rate can be used for rehearsals where technical equipment is not used and for workshops.
Community & Charity Discount
We are delighted to offer the community and charitable groups a discount on our hire fees. The discount is available to charitable groups with a valid registered charity number. Community groups can benefit from our community discount if the hiring group is a not-for-profit organisation.
We define a community group or community organisation as having all of these elements:
Not for profit – no-one within the group will profit from that group. It is run by volunteers who can be reimbursed for volunteer expenses but apart from that any profits made must be reinvested in the group.
Structure – rules around how the group is organised and run. This is called a ‘governing document’ or constitution.
Self-governing – and independent from any other organisation. Voluntary and Community groups are free to appoint their own management committee.
There are additional fees which could be charged depending on your booking type and requirements. These extra charges are as follows:
Late Lockup Fee
We reserve the right to charge an additional fee for bookings which over-run the agreed booking time or for pre-arranged bar extensions beyond 11pm (a late lockup fee). Please contact us to arrange.
Ticket Sales & Box Office
We administer all ticket sales for shows at our venue through our website and box office partners. We are charged fees to run this service by our payment gateway partners and credit/debit card companies, and we have administration costs to run this service. We retain a percentage of the face value of your ticket sales after the event to cover these costs. This rate is set on the rate card. We’re pleased to offer a discounted rate for Community Groups and Charitable organisations.
If your production is not exempt from music licensing, we will require to retain a percentage of your ticket sales to cover these costs. This percentage is advised on the rate card. This money is retained to cover your music license fees in relation to PRS and PPL requirements. If not exempt, you need to tell us about each song performed or played as part of your booking with us.
We expect many groups to bring their own technicians. However, we can by prior arrangement and subject to staff availability provide technicians for your show. The hourly fee is displayed on the rate card for this purpose. Technical staff are not included in your venue hire. The house manager will be able to help with some basic technical questions and to show your technical staff around – however we recommend you contact us prior to your event if you have any specific technical questions.
All technical equipment in the theatre is available as part of your session rate hire. Please note, we do not have wireless microphones or laptop computers. Please bring your own or these can be arranged for an additional hire fee – please contact us to discuss requirements.
Damage & Cleaning
We reserve the right to charge an additional fee to cover any additional cleaning required from your hire which is beyond our normal cleaning schedule after hiring the venue. Any damage to equipment or the property will be charged for.
Your production may require additional products or services beyond these listed above. These will be agreed along with the costs at the time of booking.
